Zarielle Thane was an evil techno-witch (used technology to simulate witchcraft). Little is known of Zarielle, only that she opened doorways to other dimensions to call upon demos to perform wanton murder and other calamities. She appeared in Lobo (2014) #5. Art Reilly Brown.
For reasons unknown, Zarielle cursed Earth, condemning it to chaos and death. She summoned a powerful demon that she could command to attack. Her conjuring did not bring the demon, instead Lobo (semi-hero, new 52 version) appeared in the portal . He had taken a contract on Zarielle and hacked into her summoning spell. Zarielle attempted to run, but Lobo shot her anyway, claiming “She was a killer. She had to die.".
