Yuri is the main antagonist of the Netflix series Girl From Nowhere. She serves as a rival to Nanno and her goal is to overthrow her and do things her way, even if it means hurting innocents and possibly ending humanity. Also, she desires to find a co-worker cruel and full of hatred like herself to finish her job. For this reason, Yuri chooses Junko-a mass serial killer to be her colleague, which can be considered a mistake and blind decision only made to provoke Nanno, but not for a better world.
History[]
Yuri was first introduced as a supposedly meek poor girl who was taken in by the mean girl's Nana and Tuptim as their servant. Nanno sees her and decides to help her get karma against them. However, Yuri betrays her to them. Nanno then proceeds to defiantly taunt Nana, which results in her remorselessly beating her to death and hiding her in the bathtub. Yuri then tells them that she planned something of her own against them, where she hired two thugs to rape them to their death. But the thugs drown her in the same bathtub where Nanno was, which causes her to get her powers after she absorbs her blood. If Nanno represents karma, Yuri is the form of revenge and hatred.
She then proceeds to try and be one step ahead of Nanno in everything she does. It is shown that she is willing to kill anyone, whether they're evil or innocent. This causes Nanno to try and subdue her, especially in "Liberation" when she locks her in with the teachers. However, with her new powers, she succeeds in escaping by assassinating all the teachers Nanno locked her in with as guards, and use the PE coach's gun to break the lock. This results in Yuri wanting revenge against Nanno and plans a gambit in the last 2 episodes where she makes sure that it will cause Nanno to feel guilty about her actions and almost turn her mortal and get herself killed in the process. Yuri develops this plan so that she can have a clear path to do her job, and revenges Nanno for locking her up. She first proceeds to put social media star Jane/JennyX back in her place which results in Nanno stealing her identity, which causes her to feel guilty for what she did to her and then in "The Judgement", Yuri then manipulates Junko to kill her mother, hoping that Nanno might intervene, which she does and this causes Waan to stab her multiple times out of anger and then gets killed by Junko. Yuri is happy that her plan is a success and Nanno is finally out of her way and she and Junko proceed to plan their next attack and possibly become serial killers killing innocents, making them the first characters in the series to escape karma.
While both Yuri and Nanno have the abilities to make the evils pay, their goals and ways to solve problems are far different. As you can see, from many years of hatred and loneliness, Yuri has developed a demonic personality when she shows no mercy, and always uses death as her punishment. However, Nanno, as the wiser person, knows that death isn't the worst and most effective way to change the world. Therefore, Nanno lets the victim regret then change. Only if the victim is too rotten in their dark side, she will kill him/her since that person no longer can change.

- Fate unknown: Nanno - Brainwashed Waan into stabbing her multiple times, thinking that since she is "turning mortal", this is a perfect opportunity for her to execute Nanno to teach her a lesson in messing with someone powerful and dreaded like her and Junko.

- She shares similarities with Jill Roberts from Scream 4 as both are sadistic murderers who are jealous of the female protagonists' role and popularity in the story and kill innocents and later try to kill Sidney and Nanno as well just so they'd take over as the new "heroes" of their own story and gain all the fame and fortune from it. She even shares similarities with Amy Dunne from Gone Girl as both are sociopathic women who fake being a victim in order to ruin lives of their enemies and torture them.
- While Nanno took some inspiration from Tomie, it's Yuri who was revealed to be the real expy of Tomie. Like her, she is also a sadistic monster who tortures people and ruins their lives for power and greed and orchestrates destruction around her because she enjoys it.
