Veronica Bradley (Nicole Cannon) was a villainess from "Caged," episode 2.07 of CSI (airdate November 8, 2001).
About[]
Veronica Bradley was a book restorer who was found dead inside her caged workspace. During the investigation, Gil Grissom encountered autistic librarian Aaron Pratt, who revealed an affection for Veronica. Aaron also revealed that Veronica was in a romantic relationship with her boss, Stanley Hunter, and despite Aaron's friendly demeanor, he was a suspect in killing Veronica. A book found at Aaron's apartment increased their suspicions, but during his interrogation, Aaron was shown the book and backed away, stating that he doesn't touch it anymore due to the illustrations feeling different.
Reveal[]
This led to the revelation that the illustrations were forged, and after Aaron revealed that he told Hunter about it, Hunter was brought in and accused of not only the forgeries, but using ricin to poison Veronica to keep her quiet. However, Hunter revealed that Veronica was the actual forger, and he was angered with her when she revealed everything to him. In another twist, a castor bean found under Veronica's refrigerator revealed the entire truth: Veronica created the ricin and was attempting to kill Stanley.
As the flashback showed, the evil Veronica cooked up the ricin in her kitchen and laced Hunter's salt shaker, doing so to prevent Hunter from revealing the truth. The villainess also used Aaron in her plan, seducing him while also planting her tainted books in her apartment to set him up as the forger. However, while making the ricin, some of the poison accidentally sprinkled on to one of her pens, and while Veronica was in her caged workplace, she was chewing the poisoned pen, resulting in the villainess fatally succumbing to her own intended makeshift murder weapon. Veronica was posthumously revealed as a villainess at the end of the episode, when Grissom informed Aaron of her scheme.
