Lady Constance (Jack the Giant Killer)

The Princess Elaine and Lady Constance

Lady Constance (Anne Lee) is a witch and evil minion spy for the evil wizard Pendragon.She appears in the 1962 fantasy adventure film "Jack the Giant Killer".

Pendragon (Torin Thatcher) is a Wizard banished by the king of Cornwall. He returns on the birthday of the King’s daughter Princess Elaine (Judi Meredith). Pendragon gives Elaine a toy jester that dances.

The Lady Constance is seen as Princess Elaine’s friend and protector.  At night the jester transforms into a giant and kidnaps Princess Elaine. A local farm boy named Jack (Kerwin Mathews) who kills the giant and saves the princess.

Jack is knighted by the king and the ordered to protect the Princess as she is sent to mainland Europe for safety.  The Lady Constance sends a raven to warn Pendragon of Lady Elaine’s escape by sea. Pendragon sends a host of witches to capture Elaine is a truly terrifying scene.

Pendragon then appears in the King’s court and informs him that he has captured Princess Elaine. The wizard vanishes and the King finds out that Lady Constance is a witch and a spy. His men force her to look in a mirror and her true form is reviled. The king orders the mirror smashed and the spell is broken and Lady Constance returns to human form. Pendragon back in his castle then turns Princess Elaine into a witch.
