Stella, or Ella, (portrayed by Filipina actress Iza Calzado) was the primary antagonist of the 2010 Filipino horror film White House. The film is about a reality show about numerous contestants spending the night in the Laperal White House, an alleged haunted house in Baguio City, Philippines. Should they survive for five days, they will win 1 million pesos ($22,827.7668 as of the film's release in October 2010).
She first appears as one of the silent contestants in the film, never speaking a word nor interacting with any of the contestants. It is later revealed she is the film's titular Black Lady, a malevolent spirit that is known to cause harm to people who visit haunted houses. She kills several contestants and possesses some of them (which do some of the killings). Jet the spirit questor (Gabby Concepion), the film's protagonist who was hired by the show's producers to act as guide in the Laperal White House, attempts to uncover the dark secret and the Black Lady's backstory. He is led by the spirits of the children and the husband of the Black Lady, where through visions and atemporal connections, is shown the life of the previous family who lived in the Laperal White House. Stella once belonged to a happy family. She married a handsome man and soon had children. However, she was an abusive mother who punished her children even with the slightest deamnor. Particularly, she often lashes the hands of her children using a rattan or bamboo stick. One night, during dinner, she forced fed a mouthful full of rice to her children, causing them to die of suffocation. She killed her husband afterwards. Realizing what she did, she committed suicide and now her vengeful spirit haunts the Laperal White House. Stella then takes the soul of Jet's daughter.
In the final scene, Jet attempts to banquish her to the ghost world and rescue the soul of his daughter. He is assisted by the ghosts of Stella's children, the ghost of her husband, and the spirits of the contestants she killed. While he was successful in banquishing her spirit from the physical realm and rescue his daughter's sole, Jet's soul was soon trapped in the Laperal White House.
