Villainous conspirator Dr. Annie Price
Dr. Annie Price (Mayko Nguyen) is a hidden villainess from "Popeye Doyle", episode 2.02 of Republic of Doyle (airdate January 19, 2011). She was the doctor at H.M. Penitentiary and the secret lover of prisoner Jim Foley.
Foley was involved in the robbery of an ancient diamond necklace, with his conspirators being brothers and fellow in-mates Billy and Tommy Haynes. After being arrested and jailed, Billy and Tommy went to Annie and enlisted her in a plot to escape prison, threatening to kill Foley if she didn't comply. Annie went about breaking the men out by faking their deaths, drugging them with propofol so they would temporarily appear dead and doctoring autopsy reports for them.
It was after Foley passed out from being given propofol by Annie during a fight with Jake Doyle (who had gone undercover at the prison to investigate the "deaths" of the Haynes brothers) that Jake uncovered evidence of the escape plot and Annie's involvement in it, discovering an autopsy report for Foley's death in her desk that was already filled out. After being brought in for interrogation, Jake locked himself in the interrogation room with Annie before confronting her with the evidence against her, including security camera photos of Foley and the Haynes brothers from that day that proved they were still alive.
Jake also produced inhalers that he claimed (falsely) that he had analyzed and tested positive for the "patient zombie drug", with Annie identifying the drug as propofol sealing her reveal. Annie went on to confess to how she had orchestrated the escapes as well as to being Foley's lover, stating that he wasn't like Tommy and Billy and that the Haynes brothers had threatened Foley's life if she didn't do what they wanted. Annie also told Jake that Tommy and Billy would kill Foley once they retrieved the necklace, leading to the Haynes siblings and Foley being caught and arrested as the Haynes were attempting to kill Foley. Annie and Foley shared an emotional goodbye before he was taken away, with Annie being arrested (off-screen) for her collusion in the escapes.
