The evil Mia Fernandez
Mia Fernandez (Lorena Bernal) is a villainess from "CSI: My Nanny," episode 6.10 of CSI: Miami (airdate November 26, 2007). She is one of two nannies employed by the Lambert family.
The Lamberts' other nanny, Vanessa Waters, was found dead upstairs in their mansion, with Megan Lambert finding Vanessa before her parents would discover her body. Vanessa was stabbed to death, though an autopsy revealed that she was also poisoned, and regarding Mia, she spoke fondly of Vanessa, referring to her as a close friend during her interview with Erik Delko. In addition, she denied killing Vanessa after it was discovered that $250,000 was missing from the Lamberts' safe, repeating that Vanessa was her friend and she wouldn't hurt her.
However, Alexx Woods revealed to Ryan Wolfe that Vanessa's last meal before her murder was breakfast, and that Mia was in charge of cooking in the house, while adding that eye drops were used to poison Vanessa. This led to Mia being interrogated by Wolfe, which saw Mia confess to poisoning Vanessa, with the Lamberts' family trip serving as her motive. As Mia revealed, she saw the trip as a learning experience for offspring Megan and Jonah, and packed scuba gear for the latter, which was removed by Vanessa. Having seen Vanessa as an obstacle in her goal, Mia turned heel and laced Vanessa's breakfast with the eye drops, doing so to make Vanessa sick enough to miss the trip, allowing the villainess to repalce her.
During her confession, the evil Mia accused Vanessa of holding back Jonah and Megan's potential for learning, adding that all she cared about was having fun, with Wolfe responding that having fun wasn't so bad. Mia denied killing Vanessa, which turned out to be true; Vanessa's killer was revealed to be her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Finn, who was angry over seeing Vanessa having fun with the Lambert kids after she told him that she didn't want kids with Matthew. However, Wolfe informed Mia that Vanessa was actually fired by the children's mother, Kate Lamber, meaning that Mia would have went on the trip anyway.
