Layla Mokhtari (Marina Sirtis) is the main villainess from "L.A. Woman," episode 1.11 of The Closer (airdate August 22, 2005). She is the wife of prominent Iranian businessman Razi Mokhtari.
Razi and his bodyguard were both gunned down and killed, and during her interview with Brenda Leigh Johnson, Layla stated that Razi and his bodyguard were both killed by someone driving an SUV. However, after an investigation, it was revealed that there was no SUV, and the murders were committed by Layla and her illicit lover, Dr. William Graham, though it was not specified when Layla's affair with Graham began.
After learning that Razi had planned to send her back to Iran, Layla turned villainous and conspired with Graham to kill Razi and his bodyguard, doing so to avoid going back to her native country and to be free of her husband's control. The villainess tampered with the bodyguard's gun, doing so by putting super glue on the firing pin, and while Graham was revealed as Razi's killer, the evil Layla killed her husband's bodyguard. Layla confessed to everything after waiving her rights to an attorney, including her and Graham making up the SUV story. Both Layla and Graham were arrested by the FBI.
