Jackie Whitman (Tricia O'Neil) was a villainess from "The Cover Girl," episode 5.10 of Matlock (airdate November 20, 1990). She was the head of a modeling agency, with one of the models being Carla Royce.
Another of Jackie's models was Carla's sister, Monica, who developed a cocaine addiction and was also obsessed with the model lifestyle. At one point before the events, Monica was arrested for possession of cocaine, but the charges were dropped thanks to Jackie. Jackie was in full control of Monica's career and life, as she kept Monica working rather than send her to rehab--even seeing Monica's drug use as a benefit to her work as a model. A year prior to the events of the episode, Monica was killed in a car accident, with Carla taking a month off before returning to work for Jackie.
The beginning of the episode established Jackie's combative and ruthless heel persona, as she invaded a photoshoot and lashed out at photographer Harry Samuels. The villainess accused Harry of sabotaging her plans for a company Christmas card with her models featured, and after knocking down various objects in a fit of rage, the evil Jackie threatened Harry's livelihood, waging war in the process. Later in the episode, Jackie was shown entering the studio after receiving a phone call to do so, but this was later revealed as a ruse perpetrated by Carla, who blamed Jackie for her sister's death and planned a murderous revenge. After Jackie arrived, she ended up stabbed to death by Carla, who used Harry's scissors as part of her plan to frame Harry for the murder.
