The villainous Dina Winters

Dina Winters (Azura Skye) is the main villainess from "The Present," the fifth episode of Minority Report (airdate October 19, 2015).

Backstory[]

Dina's backstory revealed that she was a drug-addicted junkie, and in 2048 (17 years before the episode's events), Dina was ordered by her dealer, Lycon, to kill police detective Hamilton Vega (the father of protagonist Lara Vega). On that night, Dina approached Hamilton in a dark alley and shot him to death, making the murder look like a mugging. The villainess took possession of Hamilton's watch after committing the murder.

Dina Reveal

Dina's villainous reveal

In the years that passed, Dina became the director of a rehab facility for criminals, which Vega and Dash visit after the latter sees a vision that possibly shows Vega being killed. The duo went to the facility to interrogate Michael Wynn, a criminal Vega arrested months ago, and was after Vega saw her father's watch and took possession of it that she and Dash believed that the attempt on her was connected to her father's murder. Their suspicions about the connection are revealed to be true, but while Dash was envisioning the murder later in the episode, it would be revealed that Dina committed the murder years ago, as she was shown in the images firing the gun.

In the episode's climax, Vega went to Dina's home and showed her the watch, implicating her in the murder. At that moment, Dina made an indirect confession, referring to a junkie who committed the murder without referring to herself. An infuriated Vega pointed her gun at Dina, only for her son, Bradford, to appear and point his mother's gun at Vega. Bradford wore a Washington Redclouds jersey from 2019 (the year--on-screen--that the Washington NFL team was renamed), which appeared in the vision, meaning that the vision actually showed Vega shooting Bradford. Realizing this, Vega placed her own gun down and talked Bradford into doing the same, and after this, Dina tearfully and remorsefully confessed her role, stating that she shouldn't have agreed to commit the murder. She later revealed that her dealer, Lycon, ordered her to kill Hamilton Vega, and she was later arrested (off-screen).
