Carla Sanchez (Elena Hurst) is the secondary villainess from "Offense," episode 7.08 of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (airdate November 29, 2007). She was introduced as the accuser in a high profile rape case against members of the Newell college football team.
The account had Carla being sexually assaulted by three of the players while she was working as a stripper at one of their parties, with her friend and fellow stripper, Traci Kwon, as a witness. After Traci was found dead, the investigation's progression revealed holes in the claim; the main one being that Traci had lied about what occurred, but was planning on recanting and not testifying to the grand jury. Because of this, Carla and her boyfriend, Benjy Alvarado, were among those suspected.
It was the girls' statements that gave away the deception, as each one said--word for word--that Carla was dragged up the stairs by her attackers. During her interrogation, Carla stuck to her story, but after Nola Falacci informed her that Benjy could have possibly killed Traci and had no alibi for the day in question, she confessed to lying. As it turned out, Carla was raped by her ex-boyfriend, Omar, who she had been seeing behind Benjy's back. The rape occured when Carla informed Omar that she wanted to end things, but she hid the truth and the bruises on her body because Benjy would put two and two together. The villainess decided to accuse the players because they treated her horribly while she was dancing, stating that she received no help from them when she fell, and that they hurled a racial epithet towards her as well. Carla was tended to by Traci, and she revealed that she told Traci to lie for her. Traci's killer was revealed to be the mother of one of the accused, though it can be assumed that Carla was arrested (off-screen) for filing a false report.
