Betty Jackson

Redeemed villainess Betty Jackson

Betty Jackson (Linda Darlow) is a redeemed and remorseful villainess from the 2015 TV film, Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery, the first film from Hallmark Movie Channel's Murder, She Baked series (airdate May 2, 2015). She was an employee at Max Taylor's company; having worked there for 15 years.

Despite having bitter feelings towards Max, Betty was fond of her job, but she was recently informed by Max that she was fired--with Max firing her via an email and claiming that the company was cutting back. Betty turned heel afterwards and planned to kill Max, doing so due to her bitterness over not only losing her job, but also her belief that Max belittled her constantly and ordered her around. The villainess' weapon of choice was a gun belonging to her father, and once she entered Max's office, the villainous Betty fired the gun at Max's chair. After Max's body was found inside a barn by Hannah Swensen and her sister, Andrea Todd, Betty kept her brief heel turn a secret until she visited Hannah on the following day.

During the visit, Betty asked Hannah to take care of her cat for her, and she finally revealed the reason:  she shot Max. Betty confessed to killing Max due to her anger over being fired, but as Hannah revealed to Betty, Max was not seated in his chair when she fired the shots. Though Betty was relieved that she wasn't a killer, she still felt remorse for her murderous thought; so much so that she gave Hannah the gun and stated that she never wanted to see it again. As revealed later in the film, Detective Mike Kingston informed Hannah that Betty gave a statement and that she was seeking counseling, under Mike's suggestion.
