Annie Nolan (Tracey Gold) is the main (redeemed) villainess from the 1998 Lifetime film, The Girl Next Door.
Introduction[]
In the beginning of the film, Annie Nolan is shown in an abusive relationship with boyfriend Kyle Meechum, and their latest altercation resulted in police being called. The officer on duty was Craig Mitchell, a married man with two children, Dougie and Alissa. Annie became instantly infatuated with Craig after their first meeting, and they quickly began a relationship, even after Craig told Annie that he was married.
As their relationship progressed, Craig's bitterness regarding his wife continued to show, and while teaching Annie to fire a gun, he decided to enlist his mistress in a murder plot. Annie went along with Craig's scheme, doing so out of love and affection, though she had her worries as the moment drew closer.
Collusion & Later Redemption[]
On the day in question, Annie received a phone call from Craig reminding her that he was leaving with Wendy in 40 minutes time, and it was at that moment that Annie took her gun and was shown putting on her masked disguise. Later on, Craig drove with Wendy to a parking garage, and after Craig left, Annie appeared under her masked heel persona and walked towards Wendy. The villainess pointed her gun at Wendy and shot her to death; firing four shots at Wendy. The couple successfully covered their tracks by picking up the scattering shells, and they continued to live together in the two years that passed following Wendy's murder, with Annie attempting to serve as a mother to Craig's children.
However, Annie began to be haunted by visions of Wendy, as well of recurring nightmares; showing signs of pure guilt over her actions. Craig learned about Annie's dreams, and gave a veiled warning not to tell anyone about them, which served as the last straw for Annie. A day later, Annie went to police psychologist Gayle Bennett and confessed everything, while telling her how she and Craig met. In the film's climax, Annie was reluctantly sent back to the home in an attempt to get Craig to admit his role in a recorded conversation, which succeeds, but not before Annie is struck by Craig. The next day, both Craig and Annie are arrested for their roles in Wendy's murder, and it was revealed that Annie pled guilty and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
