Rachel Lancroft (Ginifer King) is the main villainess in the 1.02 episode of "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior", titled "Lonely Hearts".

History[]

Little is revealed about Rachel other than she was molested by her uncle as well as became one of the many fans and pen pals of psychopathic serial murderer Marcus Lee Graham. Enjoying toying with the women he communicated with, making them do shameful things for his own gratification, he twisted Rachel into believing she "asked for" the sex offenses she suffered, making her susceptible enough he could tap into her own psychopathology in hopes of making her act on it. He encouraged her to finish her law degree and become his legal representative, giving them full privacy in their conversations because of attorney client privilege. He then encouraged her to turn her trauma into promiscuity and a hatred of men, which she translated into eventual serial murders she committed in hotels in the city. She lured men for sex wearing a blond wig and alluring outfit of dress and pumps, then she stabbed them once she got them vulnerable, watching them die as they bled out, making their deaths longer in each murder. Then she would clean each scene with bleach to remove traces of evidence and leave the men's bodies to be found openly where they died.

In the Episode[]

After she kills her third victim, cleaning his body with bleach to add to her MO, the FBI's Red Cell team is called in. She's repeatedly shown sitting at home, her thoughts flashing bank to the words of Graham harassing and encouraging her in the same breath. She's also shown washing blood from her hands, and when she takes a shower, she starts to cry out of terror and embarrassment over what she's used to do. A couple days later, she meets another man in a hotel party room, getting him alone in the VIP lounge. As she removes her dress and lets it fall and the man turns back for a few second, she slowly grabs her knife and stabs him in the heart, posing him on the couch and watching him die as well. Eventually, because of similar profiles, the team makes the connection between her and Graham. Still needing her identity, after going through fan mail, playing cat and mouse with him, and failing on a lead of another woman used by Graham who has an alibi for both murders, Graham is provoked enough to call on Rachel for representation. Rachel, displaying poise and composure at the start to direct Graham from taking the bait, is them insulted by him right in front of her and told to not speak so Graham can keep insulting her. She eventually interjects with needing another private session, which is really another silent command from Graham to kill her intended last victim: the girl named Jill who lived through Graham's attack on her and got him arrested. She hurriedly leaves and is next scene on the road, stopping to put on her signature wig before she gets back into traffic. Provoking Graham more eventually reveals the destination he he told Rachel, whom they've finally deduced as the killer from seeing the tapes of them both. Eventually, as Graham gloats in denial of defeat and indifferently heads off to solitary, Rachel reaches Jill's house, holding her to the ground with her knife over her chest. Most of the team's arrived with their guns drawn, and in spite of trying to talk Rachel down, she raises her knife, leading to her being shot dead in her side and Jill being rescued.
