The Bird of Paradise is the main villainess in the 1948 episode "The Pigeons of Flame" in Rulah, Jungle Goddes #18.
The Bird of Paradise is an evil woman who trains birds to set villages on fire.
Rulah and witnesses a flock of pigeons that drop flames upon villages. She is able to capture one of the birds and finds a capsule of magnesium attached to it. Another pigeon delivers a message warning her not to investigate, and is signed "The Bird of Paradise".
Rulah follows back one of the pigeons and locates a factory building at the base of a mountain. After dispensing of some workers, she located a woman inside one of the buildings. The woman slides open the roof and releases a flock of pigeons. Once again, the birds burn down a village with their precision. Only one of the bitds survives, returning with the aid of a homing device and camera that records the mission.
After Rulah sees all, she is knocked out from behind and taken inside to the evil woman. Rather than shooting her, the lady decides to give her the water death. Rulah is tied down and forced to endure a water torture device.
However, one of the men turns out to be a government agent, and releases her. Rulah chases after the evil woman, and corners her in her office. She decides to detonate a charge blowing up both of them. Fortunately for Rulah, she is able to jump out of the building window before the bomb goes off.
