The unnamed stepmother is the villainess of the 2016 graphic novel Snow White: The Graphic Novel.
Samantha White is a girl nicknamed Snow by her mother because "snow covers everything and makes the entire world beautiful." Sadly, Snow's mother dies of the "Spanish flu". A decade later, Snow's father attends a dance and meets the newest It Girl. He falls in love with her and marries her.
Shortly after the wedding, Snow's stepmother sends her off to boarding school. Amazingly, the family survives the stock market crash, and for a while, everything is fine. But then, the stepmother gets messages from her husband's stock market ticker saying Snow White is more beautiful. She poisons her husband and later, when the girl returns, sends her lackey, Mr. Hunt, to kill Snow and bring back her heart. But Mr. Hunt sends Snow White out into the city and just buys a heart from a store. Snow is waylaid by street thugs, but rescued by a septet of street urchins.
When she realizes that her stepdaughter isn't dead, Snow's stepmother kills Mr. Hunt, poisons an apple, and stays in an alley disguised as a peddler. Snow comes across her, buys the apple, and is put into a deep sleep. The street urchins see the stepmother and chase after her. The evil woman climbs up a building to escape, but accidentally switches on a bunch of neon lights that sends her falling to the streets (although nothing in the illustrations specifies whether her death was from electrocution, shock, or the fall itself).
