The Space Girl, also known as the female space vampire, is the main antagonist of Sci-fi/Horror film Lifeforce.
Biography[]
Space girl and her two male consorts were discovered by the HMS Churchill, a space shuttle sent to investigate what seemed to be derelict space ship hidden in the tail of Haley's comet. Inside the seemingly abandoned spacecraft, the European and American crew found three humanoid beings in suspended animation inside crystal coffins. They then decided to bring the female and two males back to Earth however while returning to the planet, all communications with the Churchill ceased abruptly. A rescue shuttle is then dispatched to retrieve any possible survivors. Finding the crew dead and the interior of shuttle seemingly ravaged by fire, the rescue party returned to Earth along with the three bodies.
Back in the Space Research Faculty in London, the female is scheduled to be examined first. Suddenly, she awakens from her slumber and promptly feds on a security guard that was looking over her, draining him of his life energy and leaving a desiccated, shriveled corpse behind. Space Girl then successfully escaped from the faculty into the night. The next day, another shriveled corpse is found on a park. The investigation into these bizarre events is cut short when news of a survivor of the Churchill arrive: one of the escape pod of the shuttle has crashed in Texas, USA and it belongs to Col. Tom Carlsen. He is immediately taken into custody where he's interrogated and then put into observation.
At night, Carlsen is visited by Space Girl during his dreams, who drains more of his energy as they have physical contact. Via hypnosis, it's stated that the female vampire has established a psychic connection with Carlsen. Using this, the investigation team manages to track the now body-hoping vampire into Doctor Armstrong, the director of a psychic hospital. As they took the possessed doctor to London, Space Girl bursts into a new body formed by the blood of Armstrong killing him in the process and quickly escapes from the helicopter. As the team is forced to make a emergency landing in London, they realized that city is in flames, as the males vampires had unleashed a purge that destroyed most of the British capital and turned the vast majority of the inhabitants into life energy craving zombies.
Carlsen finally corners Space Girl in an abandoned church where she's redirecting the life energy harvested into the spaceship stationed just above the building. Here, she revealed to Carlsen that he was one of them. Using a lead sword provided by one of the investigation team, Carlsen impales himself and Space Girl while they intimate.
Seemingly defeated, the space vampire teleports herself and Carlsen into the spaceship along with all the life energy collected, leaving Earth for good.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Energy Vampire Physiology: The Space Girl is an energy vampire, capable of draining the life energy from all kinds of races. This is evident as Carlsen explained "She's destroyed worlds", confirming that her race is capable of taking out entire civilizations.
- Immortality: By feeding upon the lifeforce of other species, the Space Girl can practically live forever, so long as there's something to feed upon. She likely was one of the vampires that visited Earth years before.
- Superhuman Durability: The Space Girl, like her male cohorts, was likely pretty sturdy, capable of taking multiple hits from gunfire, despite her body sustaining damage. Even after being impaled by a leaded-iron sword, she was able to still survive. She also seems to be able to withstand the cold pretty well, as she was able to leave the Space Research Center at night
- Ergokinesis: Space Girl is able to manipulate energy in various ways:
- Ergokinetic Absorption: One of their most well known abilities comes in the form of their absorption of the life energy from their victims. They can either partially or even completely drain their victims of their life essence.
- Ergokinetic Blasts: Space Girl is easily able to produce energy blasts, that can either incapacitate or outright kill her targets, as well as easily smash through glass.
- Ergokinetic Healing: Should her body receive injury, Space Girl is capable of regeneration, likely through her feeding on life energy.
- Ergokinetic Transference: The Space Girl was able to transfer some of her own energy to Tom Carlsen, while also taking some of his as well.
- Reanimation: The Space Girl was not only able to drain the energy from her victims, but also capable of reanimating them after a full 2 hours. Their victims must then feed, otherwise they will degrade into mummified corpses and explode. On a massive scale, reanimation results in the zombification of their victims, typically caused instantaneously, once the life energy is taken from their bodies.
- Possession: Unlike their victims, the original three vampires are easily capable of jumping and possessing the bodies of others, should their bodies be destroyed or as a way of operating without revealing their body's true location. Space Girl was easily capable of entering the minds of at least 2 people before returning to her original body.
- Haemokinesis: The Space Girl was the only one capable of demonstrating the ability to manipulate the blood of 2 men to create a brief construct of her actual body before turning into a massive mess of blood against the wall of a helicopter.
- Shapeshifting: Like her cohorts, the Space Girl was easily able to take on the form of any race she encounters. She can also revert back to her natural form, which is that of a massive bat-like creature.
- Telepathy: The Space Girl was able to easily enter the minds of those she comes across. This is the reason as to how they are able to learn about a species' language, as well as physical appearance and even, what people desire in a mate. The Space Girl herself was exactly what Carlsen envisioned as the perfect mate, as well as learning the language of English.
Weaknesses[]
- Leaded Iron Weaponry: Like her cohorts, the Space Girl is vulnerable to the effects of weapons made from leaded-iron. She can potentially die if the energy center 2 inches below her heart is impaled with such a weapon.
- Energy Deprivation: Like any other member of her race, the Space Girl needs to maintain feeding on the life energy of others. Should she fail to do this, she will likely degrade into a mummified corpse and die.
