Story[]

Song Hongyu was cultivation master and marshal of the inner province of the Taiyi Sect. She enforced sect laws with a harsh hand and acted above her lowly citizens (known as the “the devil of the Taiyi sect”). To further extend her authority, she took a young boy with great cultivation promise named Ye Lou as her disciple. His power did not emerge, so Song Hongyu bullied, humiliated, then expelled the boy to the outer provinces of the sect. The rebellious master cultivator Tianque sought to protect him but was imprisoned for this ‘disloyalty’ to Song Hongyu. Song then takes Ye Lou’s love interest Kexin as her new junior disciple, just to spite him. Ye Lou lived in the outer sect as a lowly sweeper, but secretly trained for years to be powerful enough to protect his sect and also exact revenge on Song Hongyu.

Song secretly schemes to take full control Taiyi Sect by killing the leader Sovereign Luo, conspiring with three other evil province cultivation masters. Song believes Ye Lou may interfere with her plans, so she gathers the evil masters to kill him and his allies.

Song attacks Ye Lous’s team of cultivators (Yuwen Ling, Tianque, and Kexin) in a forest and starts choking Kexin for siding with her enemies. Ye Lou powers up during the battle, with the help of an ancient cultivation sword. He easily kills the evil masters one-by-one, leaving only Song Hongyu. She creates an explosion as a distraction hoping to escape but she is engulfed in swirling, piercing energy. Ye Lou doesn’t have enough energy left to kill Song, so he humiliates her instead in front his allies, shredding her outfit. Back at the sect temple, Song grovels in defeat to Sovereign Luo, lying that that Ye Lou killed the other masters without cause to usurp the throne.

Later, Song poisons Sovereign Luo by colluding with Luo’s closest lieutenants. Ye Lou rescues the poisoned Sovereign, and they hide in caverns beneath the city while she recovers. Sovereign Luo is assumed dead, so Song becomes the new Taiyi Sect leader. Song tracks down Ye Lou and Sovereign Luo in the caverns to finish them off. Song boldly attacks them, but Ye Lou’s new spirit animal breathes fire on her, shredding her outfit again. Pissed, she retaliates with the sword Ye Lou used earlier to defeat her, but it only shatters against him. She attempts to run away but is blocked by Sovereign Luo. Song uses her own blood to increase her power with forbidden dark magic, but she cowardly flees again before the final battle and goes into hiding.

Several months later, Song emerges from exile to challenge Ye Lou in the cultivation arena for leadership of the Taiyi Sect. By the rules of the sect, her challenge must be accepted. They appear equally matched, but Song secretly uses sect outlawed artifacts to bolster her power. Ye Lou tricks her into revealing the hidden artifact, then destroys it. Ye Lou then mind controls Song into revealing her misdeeds. Having lost the battle and broken the laws of the Taiyi Sect, Song’s cultivation powers are extracted from her body. The arena celebrates Song’s defeat while she is led away by guards to spend the rest of her days in imprisoned.
