Shawna Knox is the villainess of "Bayou Blood", case #6 of Criminal Case: Pacific Bay, the 2nd season of the crime solving game Criminal Case (release date April 24, 2014). She was a waitress at seafood restaurant Gumbo Jumbo, having become the main breadwinner of her family after her father's death. She was also established as the only friend of local misfit Eugene, who lived alone in the swamps.
Shawna's backstory revealed she was on the receiving end of sexual harassment from Lee Dupree, a fellow waiter at Gumbo Jumbo. One day, Lee cornered Shawna in the nearby swamps, where he attempted to force himself onto her. But instead, Shawna attacked Lee with one of the barbecue skewers she kept in her bag for protection, killing Lee by stabbing it into his chest. Shawna then used two other skewers to nail her would-be rapist to a tree and sent a voodoo doll to the investigating player, doing so to pin Lee's murder on voodoo shop owner Bill Farnham.
Lee fought back with his pocketknife during his struggle with Shawna, with traces of the cowrie shells Shawna had braided into her hair revealed her as Lee's murderer (among other clues). When interrogated, Shawna confessed to killing Lee, revealing how he had assaulted her and proclaiming that someone as low as him deserved to die. At her trial, Shawna confessed to having staged Lee's corpse and sent the voodoo doll to frame Bill, with judge Edward Dante reprimanding Shawna for her callous attempt to frame an innocent man for her crime. The judge accepted Shawna's plea of manslaughter and had her sent to an institution for violent minors.
