Sara Strand, aka Darla Hendricks (Rya Meyers), is a hidden villainess from NCIS: New Orleans' second season opener, "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (airdate September 22, 2015). She was shown as an instructor at a wall climbing gym, though she was later revealed as a member of a South Carolina-based militia group known as the Free State Nation.
Darla collaborated with fellow militia member Mark Yaden in the bombing of a Naval convoy. with the pair building the bomb, known as Excalibur. Mark placed the bomb on the site, and it went off and killed Navy Petty Officer Pete Olsen and Petty Officer 2nd Class Miles Grayson. In order to avert suspicion, the evil Darla took the alias, Sara Strand, and she was shown being interviewed at her workplace by Chris LaSalle and Meredith Brody.
During their encounter, Sara masked her villainous persona and acted shocked over the actions of Mark (who shot himself to death), but Brody quickly noticed Sara wearing gloves and wearing long sleeves, which was unorthodox in wall climbing. Sara was later taken in to NCIS, and her arms were shown to have several marks, which revealed Sara as a militia villainess. Regarding the location of the Excalibur, Sara gave a maniacal speech defending her cause; diverting from Brody's inquiry, and she was later arrested (off-screen) for her role in the bombing.
Quotes[]
- "The opposition is rising, Agent Brody. The Stars and Stripes will burn, and out of its ashes will manifest a revolution. (Brody: "The Excalibur--where is it?") Sic semper tyrannis." (Darla/Sara's maniacal rant to Meredith Brody)
