Robin Gould (Alexis Bledel) is the main villainess from "Oblivion," episode 3.03 of Motive (airdate March 22, 2015).

Backstory[]

Robin's backstory reveals that in college, she was in a relationship with Geoff Armstrong, a diving instructor. Prior to the episode's events, Robin (who was pregnant) and Geoff were in a catastrophic car accident on their way to a dive, which left Geoff without a scratch. Robin, however, suffered a miscarriage, and was left unable to ever have children. The couple later split up; all the while, Robin harbored resentment towards Geoff and blamed him for her inability to have children.

Events[]

Robin worked as an architect for a firm run by Isaac Griffin, who she was also in a relationship with. The couple was engaged to be married, but Robin broke it off due Isaac wanting children. They were also planning the development of a new building, but had to work with Geoff, who is a city planner along with his job as an instructor. Geoff clashed with Robin and Isaac's plans, but when Robin saw a sonogram posted on Geoff's wall, she had learned that Geoff's wife is pregnant, which infuriated Robin. After they argued over the accident, Robin plotted her murderous revenge on her former lover.

Robin tracked Geoff to the docks, where he was giving one of his diving classes. The vengeful villainess later tampered with his oxygen tanks, placing nitrous oxide inside, which ended up killing Geoff via suffocation. Her evil plan was to make Geoff's death look accidental, and after killing Geoff, Robin faked her death and disappeared. She later returned to Isaac at the episode's climax, but this was after Isaac had been informed by Angie Flynn that Robin may have killed Geoff. Isaac learns the truth when Robin sees him, and police later appeared and arrested Robin. During her interrogation, Robin explained her motive to Angie, blaming Geoff for the loss of her baby and her ability to have children, and stating that she was about to lose everything again because of him.
