Regina Cane (Taylor Cole) is the main villainess from "Under the Influence," episode 5.11 of Castle (airdate January 14, 2013). She is a pop singer and the rival of fellow singer Josie Lang, who is years younger than her.
Regina had been with her record company for a decade, but her record sales were dropping. Both she and Josie had planned albums coming out in the same day, but to make sure that she would have bigger sales, Regina planned to leak Josie's album earlier than planned. The scheming villainess acquired the services of career criminal Shane Winters to steal record producer Tyrese Wilton's phone, which had Josie's track (among others) on it, after which Regina went to the studio to complete the centerpiece of her plan.
Regina was later caught by Holly Rhodes, aka DJ Beat, who was working the party that both singers were attending, leading to a confrontation that included Holly pointing her gun at Regina. Not wanting her scheme to be thwarted, the evil Regina took possession of Holly's gun and shot the DJ to death, and she later enlisted Shane to get rid of the body.
Regina was first shown early in the episode hungover from the party, but she ended up revealed as the killer when the timeline placed her at the scene. The leak occurred at 11:45PM, and during Castle and Beckett's confrontation with Regina, the villainess claimed that she left at 11PM to change into her costume. However, it was uncovered that she was gone from the party for a full hour--between 11PM and midnight--meaning that she had enough time to leak the album and kill Holly. Regina denied the claims at first, but after the evidence was presented, she demanded a lawyer before she was arrested (off-screen).
