The evil Rachel Richards

Rachel Richards (Caitlin Carver) was the main villainess of the 2017 Lifetime film The Rachels (alternately titled Infamous).

Rachel was the most popular girl at her high school, alongside her best friend Rachel Nelson. Rachel reveled in the popularity and dreamed of being a star someday. She became jealous when Rachel Nelson began to outshine her socially and athletically (the girls were both on the track team). After Nelson is named homecoming queen, Richards confronts her at a party, where she accuses her of being ungrateful for making her popular. As she tries to storm off, Nelson tried to stop her, resulting in Richards accidentally pushing her off the roof. She managed to grab the ledge and cried to Richards for help, but rather than helping her, Richards turned and left her to fall to her death.

Following Nelson's death, Richards was ecstatic at the chance to be the sole queen bee of her school, putting on a show of being a grieving best friend. She even attempts to seduce Nelson's love interest Tom, which fails. While on a talk show for an interview about her friend's death, Richards fakes tears and falsely implies that Nelson's death was really a suicide. Determined to stop her, Richards' former friend Roxie (and frequent target of Richards' bullying) starts to undermine Richards' attempts at gaining popularity, angering her. She confronts Roxie in the hallway, claiming she wants to talk in the main office where she and Nelson would do the morning announcements. Once inside, Richards locks her inside and the two have a confrontation, which Roxie broadcasts over the PA system. Once she catches on, Richards speaks into the microphone and claims to have intentionally pushed Nelson to her death, wanting to achieve fame through her arrest. She then turns off the PA and reveals that Roxie had also been present for Nelson's fall, and also chose not to do anything to help her, revealing her as the hidden villainess.

Roxie slaps Richards, leaving scratches on her face. The two then get into a fight and Richards attempts to strangle Roxie before the police burst in and arrest her. As she is led out of the school in handcuffs, Richards looks at the crowd of students watching her being led away and imagines them giving her applause. She smiles, having supposedly achieved the fame she desired.
