Queen Tenefi (Ljubica Bodina) is the main antagonist in the 1961 Italian Peplum film, Il trionfo di Maciste, which translates to "Triumph of Maciste", or "Triumph of the Son of Hercules". Ljubica Bodina was born in Serbia (Yugoslavia), and later lived in Texas where she was known as Ljubica Otasevic.
The evil Queen Tenefi had usurped the throne of Memphis, and was demanding the sacrifice of young maidens to the volcano God of Fire inside the Mountain of Thunder. She uses black magic tricks to keep her subjects in line.
Maciste (Kirk Morris) stops Tenefi's men as they are taking women from a village to be sacrificed, saving the beautiful Antea (Cathia Caro) from their clutches.
Later in the movie, Maciste becomes involved in an effort to restore the throne of Memphis to its rightful ruler, Prince Iram (Piero Leri). To accomplish this, Macist travels to Memphis but is betrayed and captured by Tenefi's men. In typical peplum fashion, the evil queen makes Maciste undergo a trial of strength, in which two teams of horses try to pull him apart. She is impressed by his performance and therefore decides to spare his life. She touches him with her magic sceptre, which makes him lose his memory and subjects him to her will.
The queen's plan is foiled by Antea, who sneaks into Tenefi's palace and uses a magic dart she receives from a female oracle. This restores Maciste's senses. She is however captured by the queen's men after her successful operation. In the meantime Maciste had already escaped.
The queen decides to take Antea to the volcanic location of the sacrifice, which news reaches Maciste. Maciste awaits Antea, who is tied and left on the arms of a statue that will move to throw her into the flames. The plan is however folied by Maciste, who kills the monstrous men that guard the volcanic cave of sacrifice and liberates Antea. As a consequence the volcano erupts causing an earthquake, and Tanefi is crushed by falling rocks. Her body as well as her chief accomplice is destroyed when the volcano erupts.
