The Female Villains Wiki

Penny VanBlarcom (Kathleen York) is the main villainess from "Reports of My Death," episode 3.06 of Longmire (airdate July 7, 2014). She is the lone female out of the three wealthy VanBlarcom heirs, along with her brothers Graham and Welles.

Welles ran away from the home 30 years prior to the events, and he had inherited $100 million after their mother passed away due to cancer. A homeless man actually visited the estate with the claim that he is the missing Welles VanBlarcom. Penny spotted the man and ejected him, but she later decided to use him in a villainous plot to steal Welles' inheritance.

A skilled artist, Penny drew a sketch of the homeless man and gave it to private investigator Fred Tavish, who had searching for (and found) the real Welles eight years ago. Tavish was paid by Welles to maintain his anonymity, but regarding Penny's deal, she contacted Tavish to find the homeless man. After finding him, Tavish and Penny brought the man into the home, where the greedy villainess attempted to get him to claim that he is Welles and sign away the inheritance for a $1 million payout. However, the man truly believed he was Welles and wanted the entire $100 million, refusing to sign. Following this, the evil Penny injected the homeless man with an overdose of medicine used for cancer patients, killing him, and later ordered Tavish to get rid of the body. To keep the ruse, Penny identified the deceased man as Welles when Longmire and Moretti brought him to the estate.

Longmire revealed Penny's evil plan after sending Tavish a text on her phone. He then revealed that Tavish and Penny had talked four times in the past week, countering claims that they hadn't seen each other in years. When confronted with accusations of murder, Tavish stated that Penny was behind everything, including the homeless man's murder. Penny's attempt was to make it look like an overdose of heroin, except that Longmire had spoken to those who knew the man, who stated that he never used drugs. Penny and Graham each received $50 million from their deceased mother, but Penny stated that Welles abandoned her and Graham; stating that Welles left her to care for their mother, who she claimed was cruel. Despite claims that it wasn't about the money, Penny vented about Welles getting twice as much as she received, and she ended arrested by Longmire.
