Mrs. Cutler, aka Widow Cutler (Jean Vander Pyl; 1919-1999), is a villainess from "A Clue For Scooby Doo," the second-ever episode of Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (airdate September 20, 1969). She is the wife of Captain Cutler, who was believed to have been killed at sea in a boat collision.
However, Captain Cutler was very much alive, and he and his wife were cohorts in a scam that involved stealing yachts from the marina and repainting them so they could sell them for profit. As part of the scheme, the captain disguised himself as his own ghost, while Mrs. Cutler kept up the ruse by portraying herself as a witch (complete with an evil cackle) who used her powers to bring her "dead" husband back. When encountered by Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby at her home in the lighthouse, Mrs. Cutler kept up her witchy persona, and stated that her husband was going after yachts for revenge, as his boat collided with one in his "fatal crash." After Mysteries Inc. successfully captured and unmasked Captain Cutler, the captain and his wife were both arrested.
