Mrs. Carver (Silvia Solar) is a secondary antagonist in the 1967 Italian Eurospy film “Danger!! Death Ray”. The original title of the film was “Il Raggio Infernale”.
Mrs. Carver is first seen sitting on a plane next to the film’s hero, Secret Agent Bart Fargo (Gordon Scott). It is a chance meeting, as Mrs. Carver tells him she is a fashion editor heading for a short visit in the East.
Fargo is chasing kidnappers of the inventor of a death ray, a Professor Carmichael. Carmichael is responsible for the invention and was planning on having it used for peaceful purposes. However, a wealthy man named Carver (Alberto Dalbes) wishes to use it to bring the world to its knees. They take him by helicopter to their submarine and escape.
Later a rich lady is seen from the neck down as she uses her compact to contact some henchmen to inform them that they are being followed by Fargo. She goes by the name X9, and it turns out to be Mrs. Carver from the plane.
The henchmen later locate Fargo at a nightclub called the Morocco where he is watching a flamenco dancer with his date, Lucille (Delfi Mauro). They decide to notify the “boss”. When the phone is answered it is Mrs. Carver and the camera allows the audience to see her. Carver tells them that they have three hours to eliminate Fargo and if they fail, he won’t be so understanding.
Al the henchmen get caught in Fargo’s hotel room. When Fargo begins to interrogate him, he tells him if he tells him anything, his boss will kill him. Just then doorknob began to turn, and Mrs. Carver was at the door. She must have thought that her henchman would be successful and came there to help clean up the mess. Fargo was surprised to see his former seat mate from the plane. In the process of answering the door, the henchman was able to escape out the balcony. Mrs. Carver played it off that she thought it was her room.
Fargo invited her into his room to “get more acquainted”, and the next thing we see is them waking up in bed. She grabs a robe and reaches into her purse to grab her compact before using the bathroom. Fargo became suspicious when he noticed her using the compact unconventionally.
The two of them took a ride in a motorboat an while her henchmen got in position they took some time sunbathing. Mrs. Carver used the mirror in her compact to signal them, and after doing so, jumped overboard. Fargo was just able to jump to safety as the men used machine guns to blow up the boat.
Back at the hotel room, Fargo was greeted by the wounded henchman named Al (Max Dean). He said he was now expendable and warned Fargo that they wanted to kill him too. He told him to go to a party at a villa thirteen miles out of town later that night and he would find them.
At the party he once again found Mrs. Carver, who was by the side of her husband playing a game of cards. The two excused themselves from the card game to go talk in the billiard room. In the meantime, Mrs. Carver recognized Lucille from across the way.
Fargo accused Carver of kidnapping the professor, and when Lucille walked in, she and Fargo were both taken by force to the Villa in separate cars. However, Al resurfaced and helped Fargo escape. He then showed him how to get to the Villa so he could rescue Lucille. In the process he and Al took out a good portion of his gang. When the Carver’s arrived at the Villa, Mrs. Carver took out Al with her pistol.
Fargo got revenge for his new friend by using his machine gun on the couple as they were walking to the front porch. Mr. Carver used his wife as a human shield, and then discarded her lifeless body like garbage on the steps. As Carver was about to turn the death ray on Lucille, Fargo was able to shoot him and rescue the girl as well as the professor.
