The Female Villains Wiki

Mercedes (Yoko Tani) is a henchwoman in the 1964 spy film "The Death Ray of Dr. Mabuse". The original title was "Die Todesstrahlen des Dr. Mabuse". It was released in the USA in 1967.

Mercedes is a henchwoman for the evil Dr. Mabuse (Wolfgang Preiss). Professor Larsen (O.E. Hasse) has developed the ultimate weapon of war, a massive Death Ray mechanism, in his undersea bunker. This technology is under the watchful eyes of Dr. Mabuse, who runs a secret criminal organization, working to gain access to some deadly new technological gadget.

Mercedes is sent by Mabuse to seduce British secret service agent Maj. Bob Anders (Peter van Eyck). While in his apartment she pulls a gun on Anders while wearing a sexy nightgown. Anders is able to disarm her and is in the process of interrogating her. He threatens to alter her pretty face with his fist if she fails to tell him where the money for the organization is coming from. Mercedes is shot in the stomach through a window by a sniper, just as she is about to reveal some information to Anders. She is left lying on the bed as the camera spans out.
