Matthew's unnamed girlfriend (Chelsea Schuchman) is the villainess of The 1975's music video, Robbers (release date April 28, 2014). She was the girlfriend of Matthew Healy (The 1975's lead vocalist and the main protagonist of the video), with clips throughout the music video showing them hanging out together as a couple and with their friends, including how they first met at a diner.
Partway through the video, as Matthew and his girlfriend were hanging out at an abandoned building, Matthew showed his girlfriend a gun. This would later serve as foreshadowing to Matthew's plan to commit robbery with his lover, likely in order to fund their reckless partying lifestyle. Matthew's blonde lover was initially turned off by Matthew's suggestion, in addition to him jokingly pointing the gun at her and pretending to fire it, but eventually came to forgive Matthew and agree to his plan.
In the video's climax, the villainous couple's robbery was shown playing out in full (having been shown in clips throughout the video). After sharing a kiss with Matthew, who was wearing a bandana over his mouth to disguise himself, the pair ran inside a convenience store to hold it up, while their friends waited outside in a getaway van. While the robbery isn't shown onscreen, gunshots can be heard going off inside, resulting in Matthew being shot in the abdomen. He and his girlfriend fled the scene with their friends and returned to a house, where Matthew's wound was tended to by his lover. Once the injury was taken care of, Matthew shared a passionate kiss with his lover/accomplice before celebrating the otherwise successful robbery with their friends.
