Marlene Starr is one of the main antagonists and hidden villain from the 2021 animated film Monster Family 2, a German-British computer-animated comedy horror film.

Marlene is the wife of Maddox Starr and the adoptive mother of Mila Starr, aswell as the creator Mila 2.0. She, alongside her husband are both billionaires and scientists that want to steal the energy from the monsters to bring the inanimate to life instead, using their own daughter to capture them, although they fool her into believing she's saving the world from the monsters.
She firstly appears after Mila Starr contacts them to inform them that she has taken down on Dracula. In which they congratulated her for it, as they give her the mission to capture Baba Yaga, which she also succeeds (while also capturing Renfield, her fiancé). Mila is sent by Marlene and her husband to capture Nessie, the Loch-Ness Monster, and The Yeti of the Himalayas, which she also succeeds.
In one of the missions of Mila, both Marlene and Maddox note that her daughter is holding hands with Max Wishbone, the son of the family that are trying to frustrate their plans. Marlene starts worrying about that, although her husband tells her that he’ll take care of the problem. To fool her daughter, Marlene pretends to be sick, saying that the only way she can be saved is bringing Kong, one of the monsters they're searching, with her. Mila takes the gorilla to her mom. Marlene, after her daughter gets back, reveals she has been ok all the time, while also showing her new creation: Mila 2.0, an android identical to her daughter that pretends to replace the original Mila. She also tells Mila that she's an orphan the couple adopted from an orphanage. Marlene then orders Mila 2.0. to go after Mila, as the latter escapes from her.
After her new "daughter" kidnap and send the Wishbones to Marlene, the family, who were transformed into monsters, become humans again, which is disgusting to Marlene. As Max noticed the Bats bringing up the Shrink-Ray in the computer behind the evil couple, he distracts them while explaining that one doesn’t have to be perfect, and then he starts to dance alongside his whole family. Disgusted, Marlene comments that the dance is "beyond awful".
As the Bats bring Max the shrink-Ray gun, he then shrinks down Maddox, making her wife to worry. At first, Marlene evades some of his shoots, but unfortunately for her, she ends getting shrunken. Angrily and as a tiny lady, she tries to take down Max alongside he shrunken husband, while the latter tries to take down Mila 2.0. as the Wishbone Family free the monsters. Max gets to throw away the lady in the airs, falling into the floor. Due to the shoots of the gun, lab starts collapsing. Scared, Marlene and Maddox escape to the Starr-copter as Mila, their adoptive daughter, tries to stop them from escaping, only to be stopped by Mila 2.0.
As Max and Mila escape while the latter is being blinded by Mila 2.0., Marlene and Maddox noticed them while they fly out of their escape, as they throw Mila 2.0. out to the evil couple, causing their vehicle to get hit by falling debris from the lab. It is unknown what happens to both of them, along with Mila 2.0. afterwards. It's possible they were killed when the debris hit their ship and caused them to crash into the ocean.
