Maribel Vargas (Adela Tirado) is a villainess from "Dia de Muertos + Sicarios + Family," episode 3.05 of MacGyver (airdate October 26, 2018). She is a dentist operating in a small town in Mexico.
Maribel was approached by Angus MacGyver, his father James, and Jack Dalton, as the trio was attempting to turn over notorious drug cartel leader Luis Gomez. James was wounded by a shard of glass, and a dentist office was a last resort for the group. Upon being informed by Angus regarding their situation, Maribel agreed to tend to James, despite saying that she wasn't a surgeon.
It was during this, however, that Gomez brought up Maribel's family, stating that her father owned a pharmacy, doing so as a threat to Maribel. Later on, Angus was informed by Matty Webber via a phone conversation that Gomez's sicarios were headed to their location, most likely to kill the trio. Maribel turned heel shortly afterwards by holding the MacGyvers and Jack at gunpoint, as she revealed that she called the sicarios. She stated that Gomez would kill her and her family, while expressing that the trio didn't know what it was like living in an impoverished city like she does.
Gomez urged Maribel to keep her gun at the trio with the promise of making her family rich, with the evil Maribel acquiescing. Angus managed to knock the gun out of Maribel's possession, and afterwards, the villainess was shown behind the wheel of a truck hiding the four of them, with Jack holding her at gunpoint in case she informed on the sicarios again. The group escaped, and regarding Maribel, Angus revealed that she got on a bus and was on her wan to urge her family to leave town.
