Maliphone (Denise O'Connell) is an antagonist in the 1996 episode "A Star to Guide Them" for the TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys"
Maliphone was Queen of Bethos and ruled along with her husband King Polonius (Edward Newborn). When Maliphone was pregnant, Polonius visited the Oracle of Delphi who prophesied that a child not born of the house of Bethos would one day rule. Maliphone convinced her husband to have every child in the province who was under the age of one imprisoned.
Maliphone was a devout worshiper of Hera, and she prayed for her help. Hera sent a team of red demon warriors to help supplement the Bethos soldiers in the fight against Hercules (Kevin Sorbo).
Maliphone still worried that a new baby would be king, orders that all babies be killed. Hercules and Iolaus (Michael Hurst) were able to save the children before any harm came to them.
Polonius was killed in a fight with Trinculos (Jon Brazier), and Maliphone was exiled from Bethos. On her way out, Hercules reminded her that since her son was not born yet, he would never rule in his fathers place, and a new king would be elected by the people.
