Maggie Phillips (Joy Tanner) is the main villainess of the pilot episode of Angela's Eyes (airdate July 16, 2006). She was the wife of wealthy contractor Andrew Phillips and the mother of their 9-year-old son, Randy. Ten days before the episode's events, Maggie went missing while going on a trip with Andrew for her birthday in his private plane. Andrew was suspected of having killed Maggie, and FBI agent Angela Henson (the series protagonist) and her associates were tasked with proving his guilt.
As revealed over the course of their investigation, Andrew was involved with shady businessmen Joe Jackson and Pat Barone, with Maggie assisting her husband in his crooked business by handling his finances. It was also revealed that Maggie stole money from Andrew's business and deposited it into a bank account of her own under the alias Andrea Barker. Angela and Agent Leo Jenkins tracked Maggie down from a cell phone she had under her alias, finding her at a hotel now with blonde hair as opposed to the brunette hair she had in photographs. Colluding with her in her greedy plot was Julie Molson, who posed as Andrew's daughter from a college fling to further their scheme of making off to Paris with Andrew's money and allowing everyone to believe he was an unfaithful husband who killed his wife.
After uncovering Maggie's scheme and Julie's involvement, Angela and her associates informed Andrew of his wife's actions and had him agree to work with them to catch the criminal partners. After setting Andrew up with a wire, the agents had Andrew wait outside a diner for Maggie and Julie. When Julie came out of the diner to greet the arriving Maggie, the women shared a passionate kiss, revealing themselves as lovers. When Andrew angrily confronted them, the evil Maggie callously disregarded Andrew's heartbroken reaction to her betrayal, claiming that she had tried to tell Andrew the truth. In a fit of rage, Andrew suddenly pulled out a gun and held Maggie and Julie hostage. Angela was eventually able to talk Andrew into giving up his weapon, and Maggie was arrested along with Julie.
