Lt. Maureen Knox (Carrington Garland) is a villainess from "The Waiting Game," episode 3.10 of Monsters (airdate December 2, 1990).
Introduction[]
Knox is the lone female out of a group of soldiers who were in a bunker following a nuclear blowout. She managed to contact with Captain Stanley Levitt and his subordinate, Lt. Eric Tyler, only to become shocked that her superior, Captain Andrew Garza, went out into the nuclear atmosphere, looking to find his family. After Garza left, Knox and Tyler made small talk with each other; a conversation that was interrupted by Garza, whose appearance surprised Knox--as he was believed to have perished in the atmosphere. Knox ignored Levitt and Tyler's orders to not go outside, and she was heard screaming by the pair.
Heel Turn[]
In the episode's climax, Knox appeared at the door of Levitt and Tyler's bunker asking to be let in. Tyler goes out to meet Knox, despite Levitt's pleas to not go out into the nuclear atmosphere, and wonders how Knox could survive in such a cold climate. In a shocking response, Knox turned heel and revealed herself as a vampiress, while also revealing that a master vampire (who was slowly creeping towards Tyler) "saved" her and the others. The villainess stated that it was a new world due to the blast, which created a nuclear winter that gave the vampires eternal night, and with the master vampire getting closer, the evil Knox coerced Tyler to join her and the rest of the vampires. Knox began cackling while Tyler screamed for help, and watched as he was attacked and turned by the head vampire. The episode ends with the now-vampiric Tyler entering different codes in an attempt to get in and go after Levitt, while Knox and the other vampires waited.
