Lianne Sampson (Brenda Schmid) was a hidden recurring villainess from the sixth season of Rizzoli & Isles. She was introduced as a former drug addict before being unveiled as a conspirator participating in a sinister plot for revenge against Jane Rizzoli that was organized by a hidden mastermind.
As it turned out, Lianne was a patient of another conspirator: prison psychologist Joe Harris. Part of the scheme had Lianne burning down Jane's apartment; she perpetrated the arson in episode 6.07, "A Bad Seed Grows." Lianne's only physical appearance came at the beginning of episode 6.12, "5:26," when she was shown receiving an envelope, which was revealed to be full of cash—a suggested payment for her services. As she was celebrating her illicit payday, the villainess suddenly began foaming at the mouth and convulsing until she finally died.
Lianne was posthumously revealed as the arsonist through a photo of her gloved left hand beginning the fire, with a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist serving as the evidence to her guilt. It was also uncovered that Lianne had a number of bags of cocaine in her body which were rigged to rupture, meaning that she was murdered by the aforementioned mastermind to tie up loose ends.
