Lia Abbot (Alexz Johnson) was the villainess of the 2009 Lifetime film Stranger With My Face.

History[]

Lia Abbot was the twin sister of Laurie Stratton. The two were adopted by separate foster homes. Feeling that her foster families favored their biological children over her, Lia would attack and sometimes kill them, leading to her being placed in a mental hospital. But after finding her biological father James Stratton in a magazine along with his family, Lia plotted to get revenge for the family she never had.

Events[]

Using her psychological connection to her twin, Lia manifests herself in a human-like spirit form, luring her father into traffic and killing him. She then interacts with Laurie's friends and stalks Laurie, even trying to choke her foster sister Alexis one night. After Laurie finds out about Lia, she contacts her, telling Laurie that she is with an abusive foster family. She manipulates Laurie into seeking her out using astral projection, and she also uses her own abilities to try and kill Laurie's friends. When Laurie catches on to Lia's lies, in part due to contacting the Abbots, Lia reveals her evil nature and takes over Laurie's body, posing as her to her friends and family, causing Laurie's spirit to weaken. Lia then reveals that unless she takes over her body at the mental hospital, she will wither away into nothingness.

As she begins to weaken, Laurie is able to summon herself enough to write a message for help to her adoptive mother Shelley, causing Lia to run away to a cliff. Laurie's boyfriend Jeff confronts Lia there and Lia grabs Jeff's cane away from him and beats him with it. Shelley and Alexis arrive, followed by the very weakened spirit of Laurie. As Lia holds the three off, Laurie manages to will herself back into existence. Now backed against a wall, Lia steps off the cliffside, attempting to kill herself so Laurie won't be able to reclaim her body. But Laurie jumps back into her body just as Lia drowns, taking back her body and being resurrected by Shelley. Some time later, Laurie gets a call from Arthur Abbot, informing her of Lia's death. Lia (in spirit form) goes to her hospital room to find it empty, her body having been cremated. Now left with no body to claim, Lia screams out as her spirit withers away into nothingness.
