Lavina Sedgewick (Sharon Acker) is a villainous woman in the 1968 episode "The Night of the Sedgewick Curse" for the TV series "The Wild Wild West".
James West (Robert Conrad) saves Lavinia Sedgewick from her runaway carriage. After he accompanies her home, he earns an invitation to dinner that night. However, a little research turns up some suspicious facts about the Sedgewick family and soon he and Artemus Gordon (Ross Martin) find themselves unwilling house guests of the strange family.
It turns out that the Sedgewick family is cursed with premature aging. Lavinia has been kidnapping perons with a similar disease in order to develop a cure. She is determined to retain her youth and beauty. She has been bringing the test subjects to Dr. Maitland (Jay Robinson), the family physician, to run experiments on. Unforunetly the serum only accelerates aging instead of retarding it.
Lavinia plays the damsel in distress right up until the last scene when she holds James up by gunpoint. Artie (who had played a kidnapped victium} has substituted distilled water for the serum [thus he does not age]. Mistakenly thinking a cure has been found, she injects herself with the serum. However As a result, Lavinia ages 50 years right in front of them.
