Lauren Cooper (Jeananne Goossen) is the main villainess from "Officer Involved," episode 8.04 of CSI: NY (airdate October 14, 2011).

Lauren Cooper first appeared in the previous episode, "Cavallino Rampante," and she was introduced as a rookie police officer and a protege of Patrol Sergeant Danny Messer. Lauren turned heel in the aforementioned episode, "Officer Involved," as in the episode's opening, she informed Messer that she shot and killed a man who had already attacked Messer with a bottle and claimed to have been armed with a gun. While the attack on Messer was true, Lauren's details about the victim, revealed as Pete Miller, were uncovered as false.

After Pete attacked Messer, one of his friends, Travis Moss, pointed a gun at the group, and during Lauren's attempt to fire at Moss, she shot Pete instead. Lauren and her colleagues, Terrence Foley and Glen Cates, covered up the shooting with the false claim that Pete was armed, even continuing the lie during their interviews with Internal Affairs Lt. Mitchell Adler. After Mac Taylor and the lab's investigation revealed evidence that contradicted the trio's claims, the former interrogated Lauren and outed her story as false. The villainess revealed that she did lie, but in addition, the evil Lauren claimed that Messer told her to lie, and even allowed Messer to be accused of being an adulterer, as Foley and Cates made suggestions that Lauren and Messer were involved in an affair with each other.

In the final scenes of the episode, Lindsay Messer (Danny's wife) confronted Lauren about her deception, with the villainess defending her actions and sticking to her lie that Danny told her to lie, continuing to establish her self-serving villainous persona. She added that it was out of her hands once she pulled the trigger, while also claiming that she had wanted to tell the truth. When Lindsay challenged Lauren to tell her that Danny told her to lie, the villainess said nothing and walked away. In the end of the episode, Lauren was shown in Adler's office, with Adler revealing that she retracted her statement and that she (along Foley and Cates) would be terminated.
