Laura Dawe (Sarah Manninen) is a villainess from "Fathers and Sons", the first episode of Republic of Doyle (airdate January 6, 2010). She was the sister of Theresa Harris and the sister-in-law of her husband, Brian, who she also co-owned a party boat business with.

During the episode, Brian was hospitalized after being attacked, with his injuries leaving him a coma before he died. Benny Natche, a DJ for Brian and Laura's business, was found standing over Brian with the murder weapon and arrested, with his old friend Jake Doyle accepting Benny's father's pleas to prove Benny's innocence. Jake first encountered Laura when he walked in on him questioning Theresa at the hospital, angrily proclaiming that Benny did in fact attack Brian and ordering Jake to leave.

The Doyles' investigation ultimately led to a revelation about the true nature of Laura and Brian's business: their party boat business was actually a front for selling drugs. Laura was later confronted again by Jake and his father Malachy when they came to her apartment and found it ransacked with cocaine in view. Laura arrived shortly after the men (later revealed as Jason Ward and Travis Lee, two Canadian drug smugglers who had been trying to buy cocaine from Brian before he was killed) fled the scene, and after initially trying to deny everything, confessed to running a drug business with Brian and of visiting Benny in prison; claiming he owed him the visit and further arguing that Benny killed Brian.

But ultimately, it was revealed that Laura was once again hiding the truth: Theresa had killed Brian in self-defense when he found out she and Benny were having an affair and attacked him. Jake and Malachy discovered the truth when they saw that Laura's signature on the prison log-in book was faked, as Theresa had been disguising herself to secretly visit Benny (who was staying quiet and taking the fall to protect her). Brian and Malachy confronted Laura and Theresa as the sisters were planning to flee, with a remorseful Theresa eventually confessing despite Laura's insistence she not. Theresa later confessed and was arrested for Brian's murder, while Laura's fate was left unknown.
