Juliana Hansen (Yvonne Zima) is the hidden main villainess of the 2016 Lifetime film Killing Mommy (originally titled Deadly Daughters; airdate June 11, 2016).
Juliana grew up wealthy and became used to getting what she wanted, despite opposition from her father Harlan. On her 21st birthday, Juliana had an argument with her father regarding her entitled nature while Harlan was working on a car for her younger identical twin sister, Debra (also played by Zima), in the garage. Juliana then killed her father by dropping the car down on top of him in a rage. After realizing what she'd done, Juliana then left the house and returned later to "discover" Harlan's body and make it look like his death was an accident. Their father's death would have a great impact on Debra, who was already troubled.
Five years later, Juliana continued living a lavish lifestyle while studying to become a fashion designer. She took pride in having her mother Eve's favor and used it to her advantage, as shown in the beginning of the film when Juliana convinced Eve to let her skip class so they could go shopping together. After finding out that Eve has cancelled her credit cards and was planning to sell the family house to move in with her fiancé Winston, Juliana greatly objected. Later, when meeting with Debra to apologize for an earlier fight they had during their birthday dinner, Juliana intentionally revealed their mother's plans to sell the house, causing Debra to angrily confront Eve at work. With the pieces of her evil scheme all in place, Juliana began her plan by kidnapping Debra outside the bar she often visited, chloroforming her and tying her to a chair in a shed near the cabin their family owned.
After that, Juliana dressed as Debra, tried to run Eve over with Debra's car, and vandalized Winston's car by spray-painting the word "dad" with a big red X on it, making it appear as though Debra had gone over the edge. When she returned to the shed, Juliana revealed to Debra that she planned to kill her and Eve, stage it as a murder-suicide, and then collect the insurance money while also gaining the family fortune for herself. Juliana also callously revealed how she killed their father for always chastising her, admitting that while it was an accident, she is glad he's gone, before leaving Debra alone. Later on, Juliana took her sister's on and off boyfriend Deke to Debra's apartment, him having figured out who Juliana really was (since the real Debra has a tattoo on her anus) and finding her dressing as Debra "kinky". The two began to have sex before Juliana suffocated Deke to death. After she and Eve met with the police, Juliana called her mother later that night to lure her into the woods, saying that Debra called from the cabin and sounded as though she was going to kill herself.
Juliana then returned to the cabin to kill Debra, only to find that she has broken free of her restraints. She chased after her sister for a bit, firing at her with a gun while gloating that she murdered Deke and that the cops are looking for Debra. Just as Debra wrestled the gun away from Juliana, Eve showed up with her own gun and initially pointed it at Debra, believing her to be the dangerous one. Debra dropped the gun and protested her innocence, stating her father would believe her. However, when Juliana insulted Debra as a "daddy's baby", her mother caught her slip-up about vandalizing Winston's car and realized Juliana's villainous nature, since Eve never mentioned the message that was spray-painted onto it. Eve called Debra's phone, which rang in Juliana's pocket, proving she had framed her twin for everything. The evil Juliana then picked up her gun and point it at Eve. She taunted her mother, saying that Eve wouldn't shoot her favorite daughter, but her taunts end up backfiring when Eve did just that (off-screen). Juliana survived the shot, and afterwards was arrested, convicted, and sent to prison.
Juliana was last seen in prison, working in the kitchen. A fellow inmate harassed her, gloating about Juliana's failed schemes and the fact that she is no longer a "spoiled little rich girl", just an imprisoned woman who will have nothing for the rest of her life. After the inmate walks away, Juliana gives a sinister smirk.
Trivia[]
- Yvonne Zima also played psychotic villainesses Gillian Casey in the 2014 Lifetime film The Girl He Met Online, and Sienna Lawton in the 2020 Lifetime film Killer Prom.
- Juliana Hansen is similar to fellow Lifetime film villainess Allie Banks from 2018's Twin Betrayal. Both were evil twins who framed their sisters for murder as part of a greedy scheme, which they committed while posing as their sisters, a part of their plan was to kill one of their parents, and they had killed their wealthy fathers. The differences are Juliana worked alone in her scheme, her father's death was unintentional, and her plot to kill her mother was thwarted, while Allie had a pair of accomplices and her plot to kill her father was premeditated and successful.
