Jennifer Humphrey (Hayley McElhinney) is the main villainess from Rizzoli & Isles' fourth season opener, "We Are Family" (airdate June 25, 2013). She is the younger sister of state Senator Erica Humphrey-Miller, as well as Erica's Chief of Staff.
Jennifer's past revealed that she went to law school, but failed on three occasions to pass the bar. After this, Jennifer was hired by older sister Erica to serve as her Chief of Staff, which helped out Jennifer immensely. Erica's main stance was environmentally friendly practices, and she gave a $2 million grant to the Homestead Battery company to wear disposable uniforms. However, the company didn't do so, and they bribed Jennifer to look the other way. Jennifer accepted the bribe, and as a result, take-home toxins polluted the water and caused children to be stricken and/or killed by cancer.
Erica tested the waters and later found out about her sister's double dealings very shortly before set to participate in a community parade, and she planned to resign and expose Jennifer, who had breakfast with Erica that morning. After dining, the evil Jennifer planned to kill her sister, as the villainess loaded a sniper's rifle and waited until Erica's float was within range. Once it was, Jennifer fired a shot at Erica, killing her instantly to make sure her villainous actions remained a secret.
Jennifer was revealed as a corrupt villainess and murderer at the episode's climax, as Jane, Korsak, and Frost learned that she was in charge of compliance for her sister's plan. She was confronted by the group in front of her father (a former Senator) and brother-in-law, and it was there that Jane revealed Jennifer's failing to pass the bar, as well as a transaction that uncovered her corruption. Jennifer also revealed that Erica had a goodbye speech planned, confirming that Erica was set to resign and take the blame while exposing her sister. Jennifer was arrested for taking the bribe and for killing her sister, but not before demanding a lawyer.
