Jane Doe is a female boss from the 2015 video game Devil's Third (Japanese: デビルズサード), a Wii U exclusive title.
Events of the Game[]
In the game the protagonist Ivan, a mercenary, hunts down a terrorist group called Sons of Democracy. This group, formed after the fall of the Soviet Union, tries to bring down the few remaining governments of the world in order to rebuild the globe according to its own ideas. Ivan himself used to be a member of the S.O.D. but he left the group when he realized how many civilians got hurt by their attempts to change the world.
During his hunt for the S.O.D. members he encounters Jane in her hideout in a Japanese village. Jane is aware that Ivan has already killed her husband Big Mouse earlier. She slips out of the kimono she was wearing, preferring to fight only in a very revealing set of lingerie and wielding an assault rifle.
Before the fight Jane lets out a shriek that shuts down all electric lights. Later she reveals that her eyes have been replaced by the Soviets with special eyes that allow her to see in the darkness, allowing her to "perform better". During the fight she also reveals that she and the other S.O.D. members have undergone experiments that have made them something different than fully human.
After losing the fight to Ivan, she is asked where the S.O.D. base is, but Jane only gives him a vague hint where to look next. She then tells him to kill her, since for her there's no difference between being alive and dead. Jane draws a knife from her cleavage and weakly tries to attack Ivan who easily evades the attack, disarms Jane and throws her to the ground. He then uses his katana to slash her eyes, telling her: "Meet darkness. It's where you'll find the true light."
Ivan then leaves the blinded, screaming Jane behind.
Backstory[]
Jane was born in Spain, but she has developed a lifelong fascination for Japanese culture, as can be seen in her Yakuza style back tattoo and the kimono she wears when Ivan first encounters her.
She works as an assassin for the S.O.D., using her sex appeal to make her targets lower their guard. This also explains the lingerie she wears underneath her kimono. She has also trained a group of ninja assassins who help her during the boss battle.
She has been infected with a trans mutagenic virus that allows her to see in the dark, but which also slowly transforms her physically into something less than human.
Combat Style[]
Jane is very gifted with an assault rifle, but she is even more dangerous in close combat. She is a swift and nimble fighter who can easily overpower even a physically stronger fighter like Ivan by using wrestling moves.
Trivia[]
- Jane says to Ivan that it has been to long since he has visited her bedroom. This hints at the fact that Jane and Ivan had an affair in the past.
