Jackie (Barbara Stock) is a villainess from the "In The Heat Of The Night" episode 2.6; “Hot Nights”.
She comes to the small town in her red sports car to seduce Bubba, one of the male leads (a police officer) and to use him for her criminal plans She is portrayed by Barbara Stock. At the beginning of the episode, she presents herself as a writer working on a book project and asks for protection from her estranged husband. Bubba falls for her and buys all her lies. At the end, Bubba surprises Jackie when she is about to leave with a lot of money, but is intercepted by her husband who, in fact, is her accomplice. She tries to convince him not to kill Bubba, but he insists, so Bubba has to take him out himself: the husband is shot and wounded just before the Chief and other colleagues of Bubba’s arrive. Jackie does not try to escape, but just stays there, shocked that her plan was thwarted. Bubba grips a pair of handcuffs, comes up to her and tells her (reluctantly) that he has to “put these on [her]”. She gives him a sad smile and holds out her wrists. The last we see of this villainess is when she talks to Bubba, already seated in the back of a police car. She apologizes for abusing his feelings for her and tells him that her own feelings were no lie. Jackie is then taken away, leaving a melancholic Bubba behind.
