Inge Engstrand was an unseen villainess from "That Old Feeling", episode 5.08 of The Golden Girls (airdate November 18, 1989). She was a villainess from the past of Rose Nylund, who knew her from her hometown of St. Olaf.
The episode's events have Blanche Deveraux considering getting married to Jamie Deveraux, the brother of her late husband George who she had grown up close with. A discussion amongst Blanche's roommates (Rose, Dorothy Zbornak, and Dorothy's mother Sophia Petrillo) has Rose expressing objection to Blanche marrying her brother-in-law, bringing up how Inge had faced scandal when she got married to her late husband's brother Lars. However, Rose then revealed what was likely the true reason for the scandal surrounding Inga: at the same time as her re-marriage, Inge was on trial for dismembering her first husband.
Rose went to describe how the court fees cost Inge "an arm and a leg" before revealing that she received a suspended sentence. While Sophia initially believed this meant Inge didn't face charges for her heinous crime, Rose revealed that Inge had in fact been charged, and her "suspended sentence" was execution via hanging.
