Helga is a minor antagonist in the 1982 action-adventure thriller The Final Option. She and Frankie Leith are the only female members of their radical left-wing terrorist cell seen during the movie. She is played by Ingrid Pitt. In some scenes she is dressed in what appear to be combat fatigues while giving firearms training, later she is more elegantly attired in high heels and a dress during the siege of Skellen's apartment. She is ruthless and cruel. She appears to be about 40 years old.
She is likely an East German espionage operative of that nation's then Marxist regime, working for this radical left-wing terrorist organisation called The People's Lobby, she provides weapons training to the group, possibly as part of assistance from the East German government to disable the UK's nuclear capablility and sour the UK/US Nato alliance.
When the group is infiltrated by a Captain of the UK Special forces group, the Special Air Service (SAS) some suspicions are aroused that the lady running the group is being led along into romantic liaisons with the infiltrator Captain Skellen (Lewis Collins), eventually Helga and a number of other members of the people's lobby hold Skellen's real-life wife, Jenny and their infant daughter hostage in their apartment to assure Skellen's cooperation in the r upcoming plot to hold the US Embassy hostage. The infant starts to cry while being held hostage in the apartment, much to the annoyance of Helga who demands Jenny silence the infant or she will kill or harm the infant, she refuses and a violent catfight ensues between Jenny and Helga, but at that moment the counter-terrorist police forces blast through the wall of the opposite apartment and Helga and her comrades are all shot dead.
