Heather McCarthy is an antagonist from the 2012 video game Hitman: Absolution. She is an assassin who is a member of an elite ICA team of female assassins known as the Saints. Heather appears in mission 14, 'Attack of the Saints', with the rest of her team as they try to eliminate Agent 47. She appears in the first segment of the mission as one of the first two targets to eliminate.
Background[]
Very little is known about Heather other then being a member of the Saints. She is searching for and training new members for the group under the orders of Benjamin Travis. She is known as an extremely brutal and aggressive champion in combat. In a trailer for the game, she is shown to be particularly proficient in hand to hand combat by being able to strike 47, disarm him, and even knock him down. She is known to have served time in Folsom's women prison.
Attack of the Saints[]
The mission begins with the Saints arriving at the Waikiki Inn where 47 is staying. The leader of the Saints, LaSandra Dixon, fires a rocket launcher at the hotel, causing massive destruction and killing several people. 47 survives and begins to take down the Saints one by one.
Eliminating Heather McCarthy[]
In the first segment of the mission, the Saints along with ICA soldiers are searching the ruins for 47, as well as executing civilians to ensure there aren't any witnesses. Heather is one of the two main targets along with Jennifer Anne Paxton. The player can decide how to proceed with the mission and use any means to eliminate Heather from using guns, the garrote, hand to hand combat, or using rat poison. There is a special challenge for eliminating Heather using rat poison to poison her coffee called 'Black Widower' with the caption, 'Her body was her temple'. After 47 eliminates both Paxton and McCarthy, he proceeds to the next segment of the level to eliminate the other Saints.
Trivia[]
- She started her career in the ICA from the rank of "sparrow", but later she became an "eagle".
- In the "Attack of the Saints" trailer, she seemed to be more effective than the others as she responded to Agent 47's surprise attack with a series of quick reflexes and did the most damage to him. She was the second-last to die in the trailer, and, most commonly, the second to die in the game.
- From all saints, whose birthdates are known, Heather McCarthy is the oldest one. Jennifer Anne Paxton, who is another target in the beginning of the mission "Attack of the Saints", is 10 years younger than her.
- In the game, she is the only saint who indulges herself during a mission by drinking coffee.
- Heather is the first saint, whose elimination in the certain way can give the player an achievement.
- In the game, she wears an eye patch over her left eye. In promotional material, she doesn't. In promotional material, she wears a thin leather band around her neck. In the game, she doesn't. In promotional material, the heels and laces off her shoes are of red color which is unique amongst the other saints since all of them wore black thigh high boots.
- She is the only saint, whose outfit in the game is more revealing than in trailers. She wears a plunging bodysuit and her buttocks are slightly exposed now.
- Her last name "McCarthy" is of Irish origin.
- According to in game ICA files, she is a redhead.
