Heather Clayton (Meg Steedle) is the villainess from "Buried Secrets," the penultimate episode of Body of Proof's first season (airdate May 10, 2011). She is a college lacrosse player for Penn Hill, and a friend of teammate Lizzy Adler.
However, a year prior to the episode's events, Lizzy accidentally broke Heather's finger during a tournament game, and later that night, Heather angrily confronted Lizzy about the accident. She blamed Lizzy for breaking her finger and costing them in the tournament, and following this, Heather attacked Lizzy and held her face down on the pavement. Lizzy's chest was compressed by the villainess, at the same time that blood was being constricted from her brain, which resulted in Lizzy's death. It wasn't until it was too late that Heather realized that she had killed Lizzy, but after the murder, the evil Heather colluded with Lou Davis (her lacrosse coach) to move the body and cover up the murder, and it was Lou who murdered detective Joe Salerno--who was on the case and getting close to the truth.
Heather had been using anti-fungal cream for her injury, and that and the uneven finger impressions on the body revealed her as the killer. Both she and Lou were confronted by Megan Hunt, Detectives Morris and Baker, and Peter Dunlop, with the quartet revealing the villainous duo's roles in the murders. Despite Lou's order not to say anything, Heather confessed and claimed that Lou convinced her not to report her role in Lizzy's murder. After Heather's admission, both she and Lou were arrested for the respective murders of Lizzy Adler and Joe Salerno.
