The Female Villains Wiki

Geiru Toneido (旋風亭 風子) is a villainess from the 2016 Nintendo 3DS video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice aka Gyakuten Saiban 6 (逆転裁判 6).

Geiru was the daughter of a famous rakugo artist who held the title Uendo Toneido. She wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a rakugo artist herself, with the eventual goal of inheriting her father’s title of Uendo Toneido. She and a childhood friend both became students of Master Taifu Toneido, but Taifu didn’t see Geiru’s father’s talent in her so suggested she become a balloon artist instead. Geiru disliked this but persevered with the hope that she could eventually inherent her father’s title. However, Master Taifu decided to pass the title of Uendo Toniedo on to her friend instead, and this caused Geiru to greatly resent both Master Taifu and her friend, the new Uendo Toniedo.

On the day of a rakugo performance Geiru entered Master Taifu’s room and killed him via suffocation. She then rearranged the crime scene to frame her friend for her master’s murder.

The next day, Geiru appeared in court to testify. Although she initially acted in a deliberately cutesy manner to seem harmless, she dropped the act after realizing she was becoming the prime suspect and instead became far more cunning, serious, and spiteful. After being pressed by the defence, she eventually broke down and confessed to the murder.

In her balloon artist persona, Geiru assumed many ditzy and cutesy mannerisms, as well as making frequent and varying balloon-themed puns. One of her quirks was to pull the suspenders on her dress and release them, causing the balloons underneath to wobble as if she had a well-endowed chest. However, she quickly switched to a more abrasive personality when she was cornered, as well as waving around a balloon "sword" that she threatened to "cut" the defence attorneys with.
