Fumie Ozawa was a hidden villainess from "Hot, Bitter, Sweet Soup", episode 14.08 of Case Closed (airdate May 9, 2005). She was a secretary for a trading company who was found dead in her apartment hung in her bathtub, with Officer Kinoshita's determination that Fumie's death was a suicide being challenged by Etsuko Aikawa, Fumie's friend and the one to discover her body.

Etsuko begged Kogoro Mouri (who was passing by with Conan Edogawa) to investigate her friend's death, leading to Fumie's posthumous reveal as a greedy villainess being made. Kogoro was shown the supposed suicide note typed on her laptop by Kinoshita, which revealed that Fumie had spent over 30 million yen in company money, with the note being emailed to Fumie's boss Ryota Shimizu the day prior to her death. While it initially appeared that Fumie's suicide was done in repentence of her actions, the episode's progression revealed the truth: Fumie and Ryota were lovers, and Fumie had committed embezzlement due to Ryota's habits for gambling and making reckless investments.

As for her death, it was revealed that it was Ryota who killed her, drugging Fumie with sleeping pills in her apartment the prior afternoon before carrying her into the bathroom. There, Ryota sat Fumie onto the bathtub cover after placing it on a block of ice he'd purchased, tying a wire noose around her neck that would slowly hang her as the ice melt. Ryota then wrote out the suicide note and used a trick with his cell phone (put on vibrate) to send the email to himself later to give himself an alibi and stage Fumie's death as a suicide. After Conan Edogawa finished his deduction while posing as Kogoro, Ryota confessed and revealed his motivation: Fumie was prepared to confess to the embezzlement to protect Ryota, and he in turn killed her to spare her from spending her life in prison.
