Fubuki (吹雪御前) is a secondary villainess in the 1992 PC Engine CD RPG "Tengai Makyou II: Manji Maru" (天外魔境II 卍MARU).
Fubuki is a minion of the game's main antagonist, Yomi, as well as the ruler of Hakugin Fortress. She lures the hero party there by impersonating Kinu's mother, Princess Aya, and staging a fake abduction with the help of Dr. Deron. After completely freezing Manjimaru, Kabuki and Gokuraku, Fubuki reveals her true self to Kinu, and exultantly confesses that she has murdered both of her parents. She then laughs cruelly as she states that she is going to do the same to Kinu and her three friends.
Typical of lead heroines in Japanese RPGs, Kinu is presented as a character who is gentle, kind and soft spoken. It is around this time in the story, however, that the audience learns that her biological father is a member of the fire demon tribe. Before Fubuki is able to kill Kinu, the heroine divulges that her name means "Angered Demon". She takes a level in badassand, using the powers of her bloodline, enacts a viscious revenge on Fubuki.
The graphic brutality of this scene is particularly surprising, giving that the entire rest of the game, and even the rest of the series for that matter, contains only "E-rated" violence. Because of this, however, when the PC Engine game was later ported and remade on other systems, the CERO ratings had already taken effect in Japan's game industry, and Fubuki's death was altered.
In the DS and PSP ports, Fubuki's arm is violently broken by the invisible power, but remains attached to her body. The blood from her face being slashed remains intact.
The Gamecube and PS2 remakes were toned down even further. Kinu does not attack the arm or face at all, but rather uses her power to put an agonizing squeeze on Fubuki's body. The only visible blood is that which splashes from a wound created off-camera.
